Jacobs tips & tricks

What kind of equipment is essential for you to bring on adventures?
Rossignol Sender Free 118, a really wide powder ski. Just because using that pair means it’s snowed a lot and I’m going to be able to do powder turns – the best thing ever! I prefer to walk and climb with a little heavier setup of boots, skis and bindings during the ascent as it provides a really reliable setup on the way down. A set of technical 3-layer ski clothes is also a must for long days in the mountains, with all the different elements such as transport stages, climbing and descents – especially when the weather is as fast-changing as it can be in Northern Norway.

Any good tips to make the trip as good as possible? Any hacks that work for you?
My best tip for ski mountaineering is to bring dry underwear in the backpack, for changing at the top. That way I can afford to spend an extra half hour to enjoy the view without getting cold. A cold steep skier is a dangerous steep skier.
