Fiens tips & tricks

What kind of equipment is essential for you to bring on adventures?
The most important thing for me to bring on adventures is good food and snacks. Beyond that I prefer to wear a good Gore-Tex set that keeps you warm and dry.  The Lofoten pants and jacket by Norrøna are among my favorites. Under the Gore-Tex you’ll want different layers: Innermost Norrøna Pureull, an Alpha120 zip hood as fleece and a Trollveggen down 800 jacket for the colder days. A must-have for me is the Falketind thermo40 shorts. I use it 9 of 10 days skiing. In addition, the equipment I use under my feet is of course central to me. I have explored a few different ski- and binding combinations and I often end up with a heavier setup. I ride the 1000skis All Mountain combined with Marker duke pt 16 and a pair of more riding-oriented boots. With this setup I know I’ll have a blast in the mountains.

Any good tips to make the trip as good as possible? Any hacks that work for you?
You don’t always need the newest or most expensive equipment to have fun. The recipe for the best possible day in the mountains is to have a good plan, bring enough food and beverage, sufficient clothing for all types of weather and a hiking companion you can share a good laugh with. Use what you have available, take care of your equipment, and not least take care of your friends. Oh, and stay safe!
