Krister Kopala
Krister Kopala was born and raised in Tromsø and has been snowboarding his entire life. However, the love for big mountains and steep freeriding arose well into his adulthood.
Krister has produced and featured in several successful films and the TV series Exposed, as well as enjoying success in various social media. He is considered one of Norway’s greatest steep riders.

After snowboarding the park at the local ski resort for years I got bored and wanted to develop my snowboarding and do more. I joined Eirik Verlo (Freerider from Tromsø) for a trip to the mountains and was immediately hooked!
Career merits and highlights
Filming and going on adventures with Nikolai Schirmer for many years has led to participation in dozens of external film productions and helped build a large following on social media. Several of the films have been very successful at both national and international film festivals, YouTube, TV and on the big screen.
From your point of view, what about Nuvsvåg makes it a good skiing destination?
Nuvsvåg is a great place for skiing with short approaches and a lot of various terrain to explore. The area is packed with routes that are suitable for any skill level, hence Nuvsvåg is the perfect playground for groups with different skiing and snowboarding skills.
Your best memory from Nuvsvåg?
After a lot of waiting due to heavy snowfall we got to ride some cool lines in good snow and sunshine.
How do you perceive the Arctic Nuvsvåg team and their facilitation?
The team at Arctic Nuvsvåg were welcoming and made sure we had a great stay in Nuvsvåg. We had everything we needed, and even got homemade bread delivered on our door.
