Skiing and playingFavorite spot in Nuvsvåg
Sørbotndalen for freeskiing, the beach for jibbing on a boat and, without a doubt, Lopphavet for water skiing! In 2024, Anders set a Guinness World Record for “Fastest Speed Skiing Downhill Backwards (Male)” when he jumped, did a 180 rotation and skied down the ski-flying hill in Vikersund backwards with a documented top speed of 133.4 km/h!
He has performed in production company Field Productions’ 8 latest films, most recently as one of the main characters in their most groundbreaking films, Supervention 1 and 2. Anders has, among other things, skied backwards down “Magasuget” in Sommarland in Bø, railed a rail on the chimney of cruise ship Color Magic in the Oslofjord while sailing, jumped the monument “Globusen” on the North Cape Plateau, skied backwards down “Tømmerrenna” in Kristiansand Dyrepark and skied (both on alpine and cross-country skis) down the Olympic bobsleigh and luge track in Hunderfossen.
What made you become a freeskier?
The feeling of action, mastery and having lots of fun while skiing gave me a big boost when I started this journey, and it still applies! My father owned the local ski resort back home when I was growing up. The fact that I was able to always be on the slopes to ski, being included in a very good ski community where the fun of skiing was the focus created a perfect start for me!
What terrain do you prefer, and why?
I enjoy playful terrain. A kind of freeride slopestyle with lots of opportunities for fun and games!

From your point of view, what about Nuvsvåg makes it a good skiing destination?
Nuvsvåg is a very special place! The village is remote and tiny, and surrounded by mountains with endless skiing possibilities! Arriving in Nuvsvåg for the first time was a special experience – a place where you really feel small given the majestic surroundings. Moments after you may find yourself chasing your next adventure of fun and cool skiing.
Your best memory from Nuvsvåg?
Beautiful spring skiing, good atmosphere and great weather filming with Polarnatt in 2023. I also have good memories from the summer trip in 2020 where we enjoyed the midnight sun from the summits, skiing on Lopphavet and being served local delicacies at the beach.
How do you perceive the Arctic Nuvsvåg team and their facilitation?
The team at Arctic Nuvsvåg is exceptional when it comes to service. They fix, serve, adapt and arrange things to make the experience as cool and good as possible!
Did you encounter any locals adding to your experience?
The Berge and Astrup families, who guides you in the mountains during the day and set up extra tables and chairs in their own living room to invite you in for local delicacies in the evening, are great!
